The Democratic leader in the Assembly opposes repealing the minimum markup law for gas.
Governor Evers included the proposal in his budget, to help offset an eight cent hike in the gas tax.
Rep. Gordon Hintz of Oshkosh believes the law helps smaller gas stations, because larger companies can’t undercut prices to push others out of business. He says he’s willing to let the proposed repeal go through the budget process, and see if it’s included in the final version.
Hintz was a guest on Fresh Take with Josh Dukelow on WHBY this morning.
