A group is on board with a long-term effort to have cleaner water in Lake Winnebago, the Bay of Green Bay and other nearby waterways.
The county executives from Winnebago, Outagamie, Brown and Fond du Lac counties agreed to a pact yesterday.
Todd Brennan of the Alliance for the Great Lakes thinks it shows they’re committed. He hopes to reduce phosphorous in those waters by 25 percent by 2030.
He says the changes in northeast Wisconsin would also benefit other areas.
