Sen Robert Cowles announces he won't seek re-election in the newly redrawn 2nd District
A lawmaker from northeast Wisconsin is hopeful the state can have another wolf hunting season soon.
The federal government will take steps to remove the animal from the endangered species list. The state held three hunts earlier this decade before a federal judge ordered the protections.
Republican Senator Rob Cowles is from Allouez. He says the population should be controlled and regulated, but he’s not sure what number it should be kept at.
Cowles says he’s heard from people in the region that have lost cattle because of wolf attacks.
