A Grand Chute town board member is talking about how they handled the assessments for a road construction project.
Some property owners along Elsner Road will have to pay well over $100,000 for their share of the cost.
Town Supervisor Jeff Nooyen was on Fresh Take with Josh Dukelow on WHBY this morning. He says property owners won’t have to pay for the sewer and water portion right away, if they stick with their current well and septic systems. They wouldn’t be charged, until they hook up to the town’s system.
Because Elsner Road is considered a collector street, Nooyen says the town is paying for half of the project. Typically, the town contributes one-third, with property owners covering the rest.
