Hortonia officials are reacting to the state’s plans for the youth prison.
Town Clerk Lyn Neuenfeldt says a consultant for the state reached out to them. She says the facility doesn’t fit the town’s current zoning standards, and there isn’t much support for the project in the community. She says she also told that to the consultants the last time she spoke to them.
The town board is expected to meet Monday and the project could be one of the topics.
