Massive flooding around parts of downtown Fond du Lac is forcing evacuations along the Fond du Lac River.
County spokeswoman Erin Gerret says crews are removing ice jams and downed trees because they’re blocking the river’s flow.
About 100 people from an apartment building, and 20 more from nearby homes, were sent to the Fond du Lac County Fairgrounds. She says they’re not sure when they’ll be able to go home.
Gerret says there’s flooding on the east side of the city as well. Some roads are closed near UW-Fond du Lac and Moraine Park Technical College.
