Republican U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson of Oshkosh is siding with President Trump on the national emergency for border security.
He voted in favor of the declaration, saying the situation qualifies as an emergency. He plans to deal with the issue of reclaiming congressional authority in the Homeland Security Committee he chairs.
Democratic Sen. Tammy Baldwin of Madison voted against the declaration.
