A federal judge is signing off on a settlement calling for polluters to cover the rest of the Fox River PCB cleanup.
Work started in 1998, and it’s expected to be done next year. The remaining costs could top $1.2 billion.
State and federal officials sued 10 paper companies and two municipalities in 2010, demanding they pay for cleanup.
The deal calls for the NCR Corporation, Glatfelter, and Georgia-Pacific to cover the rest of the costs.
