Pierce Manufacturing and Fox Valley Technical College are partnering to help people without a high school diploma find a job.
Fox Valley Tech Math Instructor Kelly Galarneau says Pierce hires them for 20 hours a week, while they get their GED. He says it can take about 12 weeks to finish their GED, and then they can get a full-time job, with benefits, at Pierce.
Galarneau says Pierce is using the program to find workers in a tight market.
A state grant is covering the cost of the GED classes.
Two people already finished, and Galarneau says they’re looking for more to sign up.
