A local school district is the first in the state to use technology that tracks when kids are on their bus.
Kids on two Hortonville buses can scan a card when they get on or off. That information is posted on a website and parents and administrators can check it.
Harry Steenbock is the district’s transportation director. He says they’ve never lost kids, but they have misplaced them. He says this is another tool to find them faster.
Hortonville leaders plan to expand the technology to 12 buses this spring. They hope to have it on all of their buses by next school year.
