A paper company is offering a deal to the City of Appleton to help with a trestle project in the flats.
Parks and Recreation Director Dean Gazza says the city needs some land, east of Lawe Street, to connect the Lawe Street Trestle with the North Island Trail. He says Neenah Papers is very supportive of the project, and offered to sell nearly 9,000 square feet of land for $100.
Gazza also plans to look for grant funding to help pay for the trestle. It would also connect with the Eagle Point development on the former Foremost site.
The city plans to open the trestle sometime next year.
