A community dinner for Easter in the Appleton area is in jeopardy.
A group called We Care Meals puts together the free holiday event. Organizer Ed Rathsack says he hasn’t been able to raise the $4,000 that’s needed. He says their goal is to try to break the loneliness and depression some people face during the holidays.
The group has been holding the holiday meals for about 30 years. Volunteers served about 2,000 dinners at Easter last year.
Rathsack still hopes to save next month’s dinner. He says they’re collecting donations at Goodwill Industries in Menasha.
