An Appleton composer passed away late last week.
Ninety-five-year-old Maury Laws was the musical director for the classic stop-motion “Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer” Christmas special that’s on TV around the holidays every year.
Laws was involved with Lawrence University, UW-Oshkosh, the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center, and the Fox Valley Symphony Orchestra.
He served in World War II and he started his musical career when he returned. He moved to Appleton with his family in 1985.
