Some sidewalks in Green Bay will soon have poetry stamped into the concrete.
The city is following in Appleton’s footsteps by featuring original poetry from community members.
Public Arts Coordinator Laura Schley believes it’s a wonderful way to bring poetry to a person’s daily life. She says they plan to pick at least five poems, and each one would be stamped into at least three new blocks of sidewalk.
Schley wants to focus on areas around parks at first, and then look throughout the city, including in the downtown.
People can submit entries to the city through the end of the month.
