Clintonville now has paid maternity leave for all full-time city employees.
It’s only the third city in the state to offer it. Workers can get between two to six weeks off.
City Administrator Sharon Eveland thinks it’s something more communities should offer. She says it takes care of current employees, and makes the city more attractive to potential employees in the future. She says it’s something younger generations expect.
Eveland says city leaders from around the state are reaching out to her about creating a similar policy. Madison and Sun Prairie also offer paid maternity leave to every city worker.
