An Appleton man died in police custody in Las Vegas last weekend.
Assistant Sheriff Charles Hank says 36-year-old Nicholas Farah was arrested for trespassing at a hotel. He says Farah was resisting officers, and they warned others about the situation, while they were on their way to the jail.
Hank says they decided to use a special chair for suspects that are combative. He says Farah stopped breathing, while officers were putting him in the chair.
Farah died at a local hospital.
Hank says Farah has a history of drug use, and they’re waiting for the results of toxicology tests.
Police held a press conference and they showed video of the incident.
