Brendan Dassey is now in the Oshkosh state prison.
The 29-year-old Dassey was arrested when he was 16, for the murder of Teresa Halbach. He had been at the Columbia prison, in the Portage area, since 2016.
Family spokeswoman Carla Chase says Dassey will be closer to his family in Manitowoc County, and he’ll be able to take advantage of more programs.
State corrections department officials say they review the placement of inmates, at least once a year.
