The proposal to include vaping in Appleton’s smoking ban is on hold.
The city is exempting vaping shops from the ban and some city council members are concerned about the actual wording of that exemption.
City spokesman Chad Doran says they want to make sure bars or other places don’t start selling vaping products just to get around the rule. The council is sending the whole thing back to the city’s Board of Health. He says it would be at least a few more weeks until that’s in place if it’s approved again.
The city council agreed to allow vaping in vaping shops just like the a downtown cigar shop was exempted from the smoking ban.
