A developer wants to remodel the former Menasha City Hall.
Menasha leaders are considering an offer to buy the building for one dollar.
There’s a proposal from a developer to turn the first floor into retail space or a restaurant. The second and third floors would become office space or housing units. The buyer would spend between $500,000 and $600,000 on the project. That would bring the overall value to between $800,000 and $1 million and the property would be back on the tax rolls.
The plans also call for the developer to design a new front facade with a similar style to the east wall.
The city put the building up for sale after moving into a nearby office building on Main Street two years ago.
