Green Bay police K-9 Pyro is standing, sitting, and walking under his own power while he recovers from stab wounds.
The department released an update on his condition this morning.
Officer Scott Salzmann and his family have been taking Pyro out for “short duration walks” to help build up his strength. Salzmann is Pyro’s handler.
An online fundraiser for the K-9 already topped the $30,000 goal in about a day. Organizers have already raised the goal several times.
Pyro is being treated at Fox Valley Animal Referral Center in Grand Chute.
