Democrats will be going around the state this month to talk about the proposal to accept the federal Medicaid funding.
Assembly Minority Leader Gordon Hintz of Oshkosh says it’s baffling to him that the state hasn’t already been taking the money. He says the state could save over $320 million over the next two years by accepting the funding.
Hintz believes that money could be used for other priorities in the budget.
Governor Evers proposed the Medicaid expansion in his budget. Majority Republican leaders in the Legislature oppose it.
