The head of the Ashwaubenon department of public safety says crews saw heavy flames and smoke coming from the back of a duplex this morning around 1 a.m.
Chief Eric Dunning says crews from about five departments helped put the fires out.
He says it was difficult to battle because the fire spread from the first story of each unit to the second story.
The homes are in the 1700 block of Cormier Road, west of Packerland Drive.
One adult on each side of the unit got out safely before emergency crews arrived.
They’re being helped by the Red Cross.
The cause is still under investigation.
