A spokesman for EAA AirVenture is reflecting on the life of the last surviving member of the Doolittle Raiders.
Retired Lt. Col. Richard Cole died yesterday. He was 103.
Cole and other members of the group visited AirVenture several times. Dick Knapinski says Cole was there in 2017 to mark the 75th anniversary of the raid on Japan during World War II.
Knapinski is calling Cole a humble man.
