Some high school students are learning more about apprenticeships.
Nine companies in the construction industry talked with them yesterday at Fox Valley Technical College.
Apprenticeship Instructor Mike Merbach says it’s an option people might not know about. He says college staff do a great job telling students about different career opportunities. But he says the expo and apprenticeships are a great way for students to experience the jobs.
The students learned about things like masonry, pipe bending, and wiring.
Merbach says about 70 students from local high schools participated.
