A UW-Oshkosh student is the winner of a $10,000 prize to promote his idea for new bio-degradable plastic bags.
Daniel Salazar took part in Titletown Tech’s “The Pitch” contest. Salazar and his partners found a way to reduce packaging for bags. He says they come in a pack of 200, and they unfold in a similar way to Kleenex. He says they’re mainly targeting the diaper and pet waste markets.
Lawrence University computer science student Hamza Ehsan took second. His pitch was for EZSmart, an app for drivers of electric cars that would have a network of shared charging stations.
St. Norbert College business administration student Breena Hansen finished third. Her pitch was for Clean Comfort Food Delivery, a business that would prepare and deliver healthy meals to clients.
