The Appleton school district is setting up a one-stop shop for parents to sign up their children.
Chief Financial Officer Greg Hartjes says they’ll open a welcome center & 4-K enrollment office on the city’s north side. He believes it will be more convenient. He says when new families enroll in Appleton, they have to go to each individual building to fill out paperwork.
The district is renting space in a strip mall on Oneida Street just south of Northland Avenue. Hartjes says they wanted a location with parking and a spot that’s along a bus line.
The district gets about 800 transfer students every year plus more than 900 4-K children.
