Brown County’s morgue is temporarily in a custom shed until the Medical Examiner gets a new office.
For now, the county is taking bodies to the Duck Creek Center in Howard where several other county departments are located.
Public Works Director Paul Fontecchio thinks it’s a good solution. He says it’s a secure, government facility.
The Medical Examiner’s currently has a small office on the county courthouse grounds in downtown Green Bay. There are plans for a new $12 million facility on the city’s east side near the Brown County Jail. Crews are scheduled to start construction in April of next year.
