More police officers and sheriff’s deputies around the state are training to spot drivers that are using drugs.
Brown County Sheriff’s Deputy Rob Wagner teaches law enforcement across the state. The field sobriety tests are similar to the ones used for possible drunk drivers.
Wagner says they look for physical changes that people can’t control, like eyelid or body tremors and sway.
Wagner believes it’s a way for officers to be able to spot drug impairment without going through training to be a drug recognition expert.
