Spring Break travelers helped the Appleton International Airport shatter the record for the busiest month.
More than 75,000 passengers used the airport in March. That’s 17 percent higher than the previous record, set in October of last year.
Allegiant Air added more flights to Orlando and Phoenix, and that airline saw a 52 percent jump in passengers from March of last year.
Airport spokesman Patrick Tracey says the community’s support helps them make the case to the airlines for bringing in more flights. He says people have shown that they’ll fill the planes, if the airlines send them.
United’s numbers rose by 32 percent, American was up 23 percent, and Delta had a 14 percent increase from March of 2018.
