The DNR is correcting the results of a survey on bounties for deer with chronic wasting disease.
Initially, the agency reported 66 percent supported the program. The updated numbers from the Conservation Congress survey show 57 percent want to bring back the bounties. Forty-three percent are against it.
The plan calls for paying hunters and landowners between $750 and $1,250 per CWD positive deer. Businesses that open drop-off sites would get $300.
