This year marks the 40th anniversary of the Appleton Boychoir.
Artistic Director Kevin Meidl says they’ve grown from having several boys from elementary and middle schools to four separate choirs. They also have a choir for men.
Meidl says they’re currently working with more than 100 boys, and they learn lessons that go beyond singing. He says they include leadership skills, and how to work as a team and be creative.
The choir has more than 2,000 alumni. They’re all invited to tomorrow’s 40th anniversary celebration, at the choir’s spring concert. It’s at 4 p.m. at the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center.
Meidl believes about 300 men and boys will be on stage for the final song.
