The winner of last month’s big Powerball jackpot is a 24-year-old man from the Milwaukee area.
Manuel Franco of West Allis came forward this afternoon to claim his prize. The jackpot was worth $763 million, and Franco is taking the lump-sum payment of $477 million.
He says he screamed for about five or 10 minutes after he won. Franco quit his job a couple of days later.
He’s planning to be wise about spending the money, and he wants to help out the world.
