An estate is leaving the largest gift in the history of the Greater Green Bay Community Foundation.
Ron and Paulene Heim decided to donate $16.5 million. The money is expected to provide more than $800,000 a year to more than 30 nonprofits.
Foundation spokeswoman Amber Paluch says an anonymous donor is also giving the foundation $5 million. She says they’ll use the anonymous gift to increase the number and size of the grants they award. She expects they’ll have another $170,000 a year because of that donation.
The grants help nonprofits in Brown, Kewaunee, and Oconto counties.
