A Republican U.S. Sen. is defending President Trump after he called former members of the FBI “scum” at Saturday night’s rally in Green Bay.
Sen. Ron Johnson of Oshkosh was on NBC’s meet the press. He says he understands the president’s frustration at the Mueller investigation. He says he’s questioned if there was corruption in the FBI. He says he’s working with other lawmakers to uncover that now that the Mueller Investigation is over.
Johnson thinks the firing of acting FBI director Andrew McCabe shows there’s been an effort in the organization to sabotage the president. McCabe is accused of leaking information for the press.
