Appleton police say they caught a man on the north side yesterday afternoon, after he was threatening someone with a gun.
Officer Meghan Cash says 21-year-old Leland Schroeder of Appleton took off in a car, from an area around Clark and Roosevelt streets, around 1:45 p.m. She says an officer tried to stop the man, and they later found the abandoned car nearby, on Durkee Street.
She says Schroeder dropped the gun and police found him, and the gun, in the neighborhood. Cash accuses Schroeder of admitting that he was on his way to kill a family member.
Schroeder is in custody on a series of possible charges.
