A warrant shows the two girls found dead in a Seymour home may have been stabbed.
Police discovered the bodies of four-year-old Mattelin Samson and three-month-old Hailey Poppe in a house on Main Street on April 19th. Thirty-five-year-old Andrew Poppe was also found dead inside, with possible stab wounds.
The search warrant says police were called to the home, the day before, for a domestic violence incident. It says the victim told investigators Poppe threatened to kill her, and her children, if she called police.
Court records show Poppe has a history of domestic abuse, including a 2015 conviction. He completed a deferred prosecution agreement in a 2012 case.
The state justice department is handling the investigation of the three deaths. The agency hasn’t said how the girls died.
