A divided state Supreme Court is restoring 82 appointees of former Governor Scott Walker in a fight over last year’s lame-duck session.
Majority Republicans in the Legislature argued the appointees were legally confirmed and they should stay in their jobs.
Governor Evers rescinded all 82 of the appointments after a Dane County judge put the lame-duck laws on hold. The high court’s ruling was four-to-three.
