An expert thinks gas prices could reach $3 a gallon in the not-too-distant future.
AAA Wisconsin spokesman Nick Jarmusz blames the continuing rise in prices on growing demand, and a tight supply. He says some refineries are also down for maintenance, and that’s not helping. He’s also watching the impact of oil sanctions on Iran.
Jarmusz says it’s tough to predict how high prices could get, during the busy summer travel season. He doesn’t think prices will start to drop until the fall.
AAA is reporting the average price for gas in Wisconsin is $2.85 a gallon.
