A state agency is breaking down the impact of the proposed Medicaid expansion, county-by-county.
Secretary Andrea Palm of the Department of Health Services says over two years, it would bring $104 million into Winnebago County, and $51 million to Outagamie County.
About $92 million would come into Brown County, and $7 million would be invested in Calumet County.
Overall, the state would receive about $1.6 billion.
About 2,000 people would get health care coverage in Winnebago County. The totals for Outagamie are around 1,800, Brown’s are nearly 3,400, and more than 300 people would receive coverage in Calumet.
Majority Republicans in the Legislature are expected to remove Governor Evers’ Medicaid expansion plan from the state budget next week.
