There are some new plans for the annual Art on the Town events in downtown Appleton.
Appleton Downtown Incorporated spokeswoman Lynn Schlemm says they’ll have pop-up entertainers in the 500 and 600 blocks of West College Avenue. She’s calling it the “West End Side Show”. She says there will be things like belly dancers, cosplayers, and musicians to draw people to the area.
The monthly Art on the Town events start on Friday, May 17th. Schlemm says they’re going to highlight student artists for the first time on that night. Students from the Appleton school district, Lawrence University, and kid vendors from the downtown Farm Market will be set up at about 20 businesses.
