Tourism numbers in the Fox Cities rose by almost five percent last year.
The Fox Cities Convention and Visitors Bureau is reporting $493 million in visitor spending in 2018.
Spokeswoman Mary Rhode believes a lot of different areas contributed to the increase, including conventions, sporting events, and a bounce-back in retail.
Rhode says food and beverage accounted for one-third of visitor spending.
She’s excited about the rest of this year, and the coming years, with the Fox Cities Exhibition Center ramping up, and the opening of the Community First Champion Center later this fall.
