Winnebago County prosecutors are upgrading the charges filed against a man involved in a deadly bar fight in Oshkosh.
Christopher Berry is now facing one count of second-degree reckless homicide in the death of Steven Mallas. Berry had originally been charged with aggravated battery.
Prosecutors say Berry got into an argument with Mallas outside of Boots Saloon last October 7th. Berry is accused of punching Mallas in the face, causing him to fall to the ground and suffer a fatal head injury.
Berry now faces up to 25 years in prison, if he’s convicted of the new charge.
