Kaukauna will have a new fire chief.
The Police and Fire Commission is hiring Jacob Carrel to replace the retiring Paul Hirte. Carrel has been a captain for the past eight years in Beatrice, Nebraska.
Mayor Tony Penterman likes his experience, and he believes Carrel will be a great fit for the city.
Carrel’s first day on the job will be May 28th.
The city is also in the process of searching for a new police chief. Penterman says longtime Chief John Manion is retiring next month.
