A 32-year-old Green Bay woman is facing nine charges on accusations she was drunk when she drove into a backyard with her three kids in her SUV.
Brown County prosecutors say Monica Mencheski hit a tree on Cormier Road in Ashwaubenon before driving between two houses. They say she also hit a utility pole and nearly missed both houses. She’s accused of going through some landscaping and her SUV ended up on a large rock. The three children are five, two, and three months old.
Debbie Coenen and her son witnessed it. She says he punched the window to get the keys out to stop her from driving away.
Mencheski is charged with her third drunk driving offense and reckless endangerment. She also didn’t have a drivers license.
Prosecutors say her blood-alcohol level was three times the legal limit.
