Records show that Lt. Gov. Mandela Barnes is getting far more security protection than his Republican predecessor.
The State Patrol spent nine times as many hours protecting Barnes over a two-month period, than time spent with former Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch during all of last year.
A review shows Barnes had protection for seven days when he didn’t have any official events.
Barnes is the state’s first African-American lieutenant governor.
A spokeswoman for Governor Evers says the office won’t compromise when it comes to safety and security.
