A De Pere couple is making a second major donation in less than a month.
Jim and Miriam Mulva are committing $27 million to build a new Notre Dame Catholic elementary and middle school in De Pere. The donation comes just a few weeks after the Mulvas gave $50 million to the construction of a new cultural center in downtown De Pere.
Miriam says the location of the school, on the former St. Mary Church site, is special to them. She says they got married at that church, 50 years ago.
The school will be at the site of the current Notre Dame Elementary School. It should be ready for the start of classes in the fall of 2020.
The Mulva Cultural Center will open in 2022.
The latest gift will also pay for a new parish center at St. Francis Xavier Church in De Pere.
