Construction is underway on a new facility at the King Veterans Home in Waupaca County.
It will have nearly 200 beds when it opens in 2020. Although the work started weeks ago Governor Evers and others gathered yesterday for a formal groundbreaking ceremony. He says they hope it will serve veterans and their families for years to come.
The project is expected to cost $80 million. The federal government will pay for 52 million of that.
The facility will be along Rainbow Lake on the Chain of Lakes. It will have private rooms and a memory care unit.
