The head of the Fox River Locks system wants to make sure kayakers and people in canoes aren’t portaging around the Rapide Croche lock near Wrightstown.
There’s been a barrier in place for 31 years to block sea lamprey.
Fox River Navigation System Authority CEO Jeremy Cords was a guest on Fresh Take with Josh Dukelow on WHBY this morning.
Cords says it’s also against state law to portage at the Rapide Croche barrier. A local kayaking group wants to be able to travel on both sides of that barrier.
