Neenah’s leader helped raise money for a new splash pad by climbing to the top of a fire truck’s ladder.
People could buy a stress ball shaped like a firefighter. The figures were dropped onto a target under the ladder with prizes going to the figures that were closest to the bull’s eye.
Mayor Dean Kaufert says he’s not afraid of heights but it was a long way up. He says the Neenah-Menasha Fire Department met its fundraising goal, so it was worth it.
The funds raised at the event will go toward a firefighter-themed splash pad in Washington Park.
