A private investment firm is buying Shopko Optical, and there are plans to move the business to freestanding locations.
Monarch Alternative Capital made the official announcement today. The company wants to open 80 stories this year, and there are plans for further growth next year, and beyond.
Monarch is paying $8.5 million.
Shopko is expected to close all of its remaining retail stores by June 16th. The Ashwaubenon-based retailer filed for bankruptcy.
